Contribute / corrections
Open contributions are a v1.5+ goal
Hiphopstorian's v1 is intentionally curator-led. Every node is hand-cited and schema-validated; that discipline is hard to maintain through an open-contribution surface, and we'd rather get the citation foundation solid before opening editing.
What to do if you spot something wrong
Email msaleem@gmail.com with:
- The page URL where you saw the issue
- What you think is wrong
- A public source (URL) that supports your correction — at minimum Tier B per methodology
Corrections go into a curator queue, get vetted against the source you cite, and ship in a subsequent deploy. We track every change in commit history.
What to do if you think we're missing something
Same email, with: the topic, why it matters, and at minimum one Tier A or B source (per the tier system). Submissions that can't be cited won't be added.
What we will not do
- Add a claim because "everyone knows it" — even when everyone does
- Cite content farms, AI summaries, anonymous wikis, or social-media rumors
- Run the site in a Claude voice — opinions stay with named, cited critics
